Bart Borghesi is a multimedia artist based in Melbourne, Australia.
His film practice spans directing, producing, cinematography, editing, VFX, and colour correction. Over more than three decades he directed and edited over 120 music videos and commercials for Sony, Warner, EMI, Universal, BMG, ABC, Liberation, Shock, Festival Mushroom, Roadrunner, Spinefarm, and Capitol Records. His work earned five ARIA nominations for Best Music Video, winning in 2003 for Do It With Madonna by The Androids.
In advertising, his commercial work included campaigns for Carlton United Breweries, Rheem, Red Bull, and two Myer/Northland productions shot on location in London and Monument Valley. His work for Canberra Tourism earned a nomination for Best Tourism Commercial at the London International Awards (LIA).
As Director of Video Production for the Red Bull Beat Suite, he directed and shot weekly video content over four weeks culminating in a major live event at the Melbourne Recital Centre, which he produced. As Director of Video Production for the Red Bull Music Academy Melbourne, he directed and shot multiple videos weekly over several weeks documenting the program's events.
His documentary and educational work reflects a sustained commitment to projects of cultural and social significance. He collaborated with Neil McLeod OAM to archive and preserve video documentation of Indigenous artists including Rover Thomas and Jack Dale Mengenen. For the Australia Institute he produced content for the Murujuga Rock Art campaign. During the Covid period he created a video campaign for the Municipal Association of Victoria promoting the role of artists in local communities. He has also directed work for Reggio Emilia Australia, promoting the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy, and served as Director of Video for Unlimited: Designing for the Asia Pacific. Between 2014 and 2020 he directed, produced, shot, and edited the Modern Melbourne and Naked Architect series for Open House Melbourne, in partnership with Culture Victoria, the Heritage Council of Victoria, and Melbourne University.
His photography examines the relationship between built structures and their environments. Work has been exhibited at the Kingston Arts Photographic Awards (2019) and published in 150 Houses You Need to Visit Before You Die (Lannoo Publishers, 2020). Between 2017 and 2021 he collaborated with architect Peter McIntyre AO to document the River House site.
He has taught filmmaking at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE), specialising in virtual production and Unreal Engine, and wrote and delivered a Music Video Production course at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS).
His work has been submitted to the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia and is held in the permanent collection of the rock'n'popmuseum, Gronau. He is a recipient of the Victorian Government Sustaining Creative Workers Grant.
Under the name Uninstall, he makes electronic music. The debut single Release the Prism is released 22 May 2026.
